Our Puppy Preparation: How we do it

The Shoredale Farm method for raising and training your puppy:

We are very serious when it comes to the preparation of our puppies for your home.  Our care for these puppies is fueled by the joy we get from their vulnerable cuteness on day one to their wide-eyed playfulness on the day they leave.  It makes the hard/yucky work fun and feel so worthwhile.  Our puppy rearing is conducted by Mr. and Mrs. Shore and our teenage daughter.  From day one, each puppy receives individual inspection, care, stimulation, and comfort.

 

Weight and length is recorded during the first two weeks to ensure proper growth and development.  A scientifically proven method of stimulation is administered to promote growth and development.  This method is referred to as ENS, or Early Neurological Stimulation.  ENS was developed by the US Military to improve the performance of future military working dogs.  The benefits are, “Improved cardiovascular performance (heart rate); stronger heart beats; stronger adrenal glands; more tolerance to stress; and greater resistance to disease.”1

 

By the time these puppies leave our home, they have spent many hours playing with and being exposed to boisterous toddlers, school-age children, piano, TV, petting, stroking, playing, cuddling, shouting-screaming-crying, stomping, motorcycle engine starts, smoke alarms, visiting new faces, and anything else that might come in 8 weeks in a home with many kids on a farm. 

 

Our puppies are potty trained.  We train them to do their business on a tray (like the one under your freezer or washer) and a “puppy pad.”

By puppy pickup day, your puppy will have been veterinarian-checked, dewormed, and up to date on its shots.

These puppies will go quickly so do not wait, reserve your puppy right away.
